Guys:
Where is a good place to buy flints? Marstar has them in two sizes 3/4" and 5/8"! Which one is the right size for the Bess? Also which is the right powder to use? I'm sure if I go to Bass Pro shop they would be able to set me up with it but I'd rather as you guys. Also what's a good price range for the flints?
Keith
Good place to by flints.

Most people use 3/4 inch for the .75 calibres. Best place to buy would be from Britain,....but if it's not possible then VR1 outta Washington State in usa used to be the best.
Cheers,
Pud

I just looked and it seems that VR1 is outta business. If you can't buy your flints right from Brandon in Britain then there are three north american retailers. They are as follows:
http://www.ima-usa.com/product_info.php/products_id/590
https://www.atlantacutlery.com/p-700-br ... teID=10055
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... tid=103471
It seems that $2 to $2.50 is the going price for one. Buy bulk if you can,....like 20 at a time.
Also, Double "F" powder is the best for the musket pan.
Cheers,
Pud

We used to get them from Track of the Wolf, but it looks like he only sells the French flints in bulk now. If you wait 'till you get back, we may be placing a large order for everyone. Also, we should have enough spares for the first couple of events.
