A small container of transmission fluid
works really great to stop the rusting .
Works better than oil because it doesn't
evaporate the way oil does .

Hi Jess If you really want to use the canteen to hold water when your on the field you will probably have to soak it in water so as to make it water tight again . So fill the canteen with a mild solution of bleach & water and just let it sit . This will swell the wood seams of the canteen and ma...

The lock in your musket is just fine .
It will just take some getting use to .
Besides it's brand new , once you work it in it will be alot easier to release from half cock .
